Taught by topiary artist Darren Lerigo and Chris Poole of the European Boxwood And Topiary Society, this 3 hour course takes place in the most incredible setting, where you will learn everything you need to know about pruning and making topiary - as well as getting some practise in as well!

"I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the workshop on Friday. It completely exceeded my expectations. I learned SO much and have been so inspired. An all round fantastic day with lovely people in an amazing setting. Thank you so much to everyone involved!"

Workshop Participant 2023

If you have questions about the course please do ask, but because the group is small we can adapt it to make sure you learn what you need.

We have great fun on these workshops and get people clipping with gusto, so come prepared to do some clipping - it is, after all, the best way to learn.

Workshop Sample Itinerary:

  • Welcome to the garden
  • Learn about the basic tools you need for topiary, how to look after them and what to do with pests on your boxwood
  • Tour of the garden to see which plants can be used and what it is possible to do with them
  • Learn the right technique for clipping
  • Get clipping - practise makes perfect!

We are running 2 workshops over the day, each 3 hours long, so if you are travelling some distance to join us you may wish to book the afternoon session so you don't need to make such an early start.

If it rains, we will get wet - so come prepared for the weather.

Any questions, please do just ask. Spaces are limited, so book soon. You may also wish to share the idea with a friend, so do let them know!

Refreshments are included in the workshop.
