Waltham Place offers schools and home educators a unique setting in which to learn.
As a biodynamic and organic farm, we farm in harmony with nature and endeavour to teach our visitors about the natural cycles that surround us. From the rare breed farm animals to the Kitchen Garden with its wide variety of produce, to the compost area and leaf mould heaps and the woodlands with their flora and fauna, a visit to Waltham Place is about discovery, about learning to observe and to question.

Above all it is about relating the natural environment we see before us, to our daily lives. Visits to Waltham Place are sensory as well as factual and appeal to the wide variety of learning styles our children possess. Each season is different, as is each class visiting, so we plan each visit individually to meet the needs of that group.

A pre visit is strongly advised, so that teachers can get a feel for the scope of Waltham and how best to use our resources to further their children’s learning. Whatever your preference, Waltham has a wealth of visual, tactile and mulit sensory experiences to offer.
