Waltham Place has a small farm shop which is open on Wednesdays, and Friday afternoons during the Summer season, selling homegrown fruit and vegetables. Our produce is entirely seasonal so availability varies throughout the year. Chef, Adrian, stocks a range of his organic jams and chutneys, home-made and handmade using only natural ingredients. Also available are copper tools, books and ‘homegrown’ Castlemilk and Jacob sheeps’ knitting wool. As a certified organic and biodynamic farm we do not use any chemicals in the production of our fruit and vegetables, which are harvested only when ready ensuring quality and flavour. The biodynamic principles, under which the vegetable gardens are managed, dictate the sowing and harvesting of the produce. As the farm shop is now closed for Winter, we offer customers a weekly Veg Box for collection on a Friday.
As fans of seasonal vegetables will know, the UK climate is not suited to growing vegetables in early Spring. We have entered the ‘Hungry Gap’ and must now wait for the new season crops to grow.Stored crops – apples, potatoes and pumpkins – will be available until further notice, with apple juice and preserves also on offer. To order these items from February onwards contact email@example.com for collection on a Friday between 12-2pm until further notice. Orders must be placed by 5pm on a Thursday. Payment will be taken on collection.
Tearoom Opening times
Closed until May 2020. During the Summer season the old barn is the perfect setting for a light lunch or tea and biscuits. This tranquil tearoom utilises fresh seasonal ingredients from the gardens and farm so the menu often reflects the time of year.
