Level 2 Biodynamic Gardening Course

10am – 4pm on all 4 dates

A course for those who have completed our Biodynamic Gardening Course and wish to develop and deepen their understanding of biodynamic gardening and the making and use of biodynamic preparations.

Preparatory Zoom Question and Answer sessions:
25th February, 25th March, 29th April. An opportunity to ask all those niggling questions that have built up over Winter, as your thoughts turn to the new season of veg growing.

Level 2 Module 1 – 24th April 2021 The Spiritual Foundations of Biodynamic Agriculture
We are delighted to welcome Judith Byford, curative eurythmist, for a day exploring the historical context and spiritual foundations of Biodynamic Agriculture. The day will include lectures, artistic and group activities, and a garden walk / observation. It is recommended that participants read the Lecture one of the Agriculture Course by Rudolph Steiner, prior to the course.

Level 2 Module 2 – 22nd May 2021 The Spring Biodynamic Preparations
A practical day making and learning about the use of biodynamic preparations. We will be making the following preparations. 501 – Horn silica, 502 – Yarrow, CPP – Cow Pat Pit
And harvesting: 500 – Horn manure, 503 – Chamomile, 506 – Dandelion
The day will finish with horn manure stirring and we ask that participants bring their own container to take away some prep for spraying at home.

Level 2 Module 3 – 5th June 2021 Growing with your garden
Andre and Harry will work with you to offer hints and tips to optimise productivity whilst lessening waste. The course will cover: Succession sowing (cut and come again salad all year round), crop planning, sowing and planting techniques, weeding and cultivation, how to cope with demanding weather conditions and planning for winter vegetables.

Level 2 Module 4 – 25th September 2021 The Autumn Biodynamic preparations
A practical day making and learning about the use of biodynamic preparations. We will be making the following preparations: 500 – Horn manure, 503 – Chamomile, 505 – Oak bark, 506 – Dandelion
We will also bury 502 – Yarrow, and harvest 501 – Horn silica
The CPP made on Module 2 will be ready to share with the participants. Each participant will be offered a cow horn, with preparation 500, to take home and bury.
