Amazingly, there are more than 270 species of native bee found in the UK, most of them are solitary. Come with us as Trevor Smith leads an exploration into parts of the gardens at Waltham Place and explains more about the huge diversity of bees to be found. As we walk, finding bees pollinating different flowers, Trevor will help us understand why they are so important and introduce some of the different methods they use to collect pollen and nectar, their various nesting requirements and some of their specialised behaviours.

This event is suitable for those aged 14+
