Join us in the meadows of Waltham Place as we learn the gentle art of scything with instructor Clive Leek. Scything offers a quieter, more environmentally friendly way to manage the grass and peripheral plants in your plot. Meditative and calming, scything encourages a hands-on connection to the garden and allows you to observe and interact with nature whilst you work. Clive will teach you how to set up the scythe and the correct stance for using one before leading you in a supervised session where you can hone your skills. After lunch we will have time for further practice and will spend time in the meadow gaining insight into the key indicator species of meadow flora and the life they support.
